Art enthusiast, real estate investor, information technology investor, and biotechnology investor, Arthur Becker is a man of many hearts. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zinio LLC finds time in his busy schedule to fit in all these activities. To provide greater insight on how he manages to do it all, the man himself recently sat down for a tell-all interview that was published in The Huffington Post. Like most investors of worth today, Mr. Becker started out small. He journey started out as a stockbroker at Bear Sterns where he amassed enough to purchase a number of tech companies. These companies earned him the fortune that allowed him to divest into other industries. He has also had a number of failures along the way that have strengthened rather than weakened his resolve, such a binocular startup that never really took off.
In recent years Mr. Becker has shifted his attention to real estate. This peculiar decision may be influenced by the time he worked on restoring 18th-century homes early on in his professional career. Today he has ongoing or complete real estate projects in both Florida and New York. While most of these projects have been in collaboration with other investors, this year he is rearing to undertake his first solo project in New York estimated to be work around $52.5 million upon completion.
While his humility may not admit it, Mr. Becker is an accomplished artist. His office dons various pieces of art that the Bennington College alumni with a ceramics and photography mixed major degree either created or collected. He has a deep appreciation for ancient sculptures which he collected and often reproduces. Having dissected the worlds of art and business, his artistic representations often feature money as either the medium or the subject, for example, origami animals made from paper money.
Mr. Becker is an accomplished family. For more than two decades he was married to designer Vera Wang with whom they have two daughters. His families have remained extremely close and are supportive of each other despite a divorce five years ago. He cites his family as a major source of his strengths and inspiration.
